It has been a milestone year for us so far. One of the most gratifying accomplishments was graduating our first class of soldiers and staff at Fort Riley, Kansas. We were able to place beehives on the installation so that our students can spend at least half of the course working directly with bees. The 32 hour basic beekeeping course uses the lesson plans developed as part of our teaching mission with Kansas State University. We now have 13 new active duty beekeepers with more to come.
Our next class at Fort Riley will begin during the month of August and we have openned the course to all active duty soldiers and their family members. We have had nearly 50 express interest so our program there is growing nicely.
We also completed our Kansas State University semester with 25 students all completing their final test of a successful hive examination. Valor Honey's role in teaching the classes is tremendously rewarding. You may enroll in the course at Kansas State University and the GI Bill will cover your tuition and books if you are a veteran.
We always seek more veteran interns. We tailor a course for you based on your availability. It is best to commit to being with us for a full cycle or from March to October so that you can participate with us as we maintain our colonies. Learning at the hive is the best way to learn and the most rewarding but you can join us anytime of the year. Contact us through this website or give us call. We would love to have you join us.
Our participation in the new American Honey Institute is one of the high points of our efforts. Thanks to Dr. Brian MaCornack, Head of Kansas State Universities Entomology Department, the program gains momentum each day. Our testing and certification program is close to startup with a unique protocol that will determine the authenticity of honey at a level not achieved anywhere previously. The Kansas State Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory is working with us to add honey and bees to their testing regimen. During one of our Bee Boot Camps, Dr. Brandon Plattner learned that bees are livestock. That inspired him (and subsequently us) to add bees to their testing capability. Possessing all of the latest and emerging testing means, we are nearing offering what may be the most unique and thorough testing service.
Thank all of you for your support and working with us to make our programs even more robust. Join us by becoming an intern, student, or volunteer. We are helping persons become more whole with each day and we are creating a whole fleet of new beekeepers and honey producers.

OUR MISSION
OUR HONEY
Our mission is to help transitioning service men and women suffering from invisible wounds of war through agriculture, specifically beekeeping.
In addition, our duty is to support agriculture and contribute to farming shortages, including beekeepers.
Inherent in our mission is research to save a vulnerable bee population and in doing so save a honey production industry that is in decline.
Our Valor brand proudly and respectfully salutes American military veterans. Decorated Veterans, who are themselves skilled beekeepers, founded our company and remain Valor’s leadership cornerstone.
Valor Honey is a product of our beekeeping program. Every bottle of Valor Honey is harvested or bottled by a Veteran and 100% of your purchase goes to help Veterans.
All Valor Honey is GenuHoney certified.
This means it's proven to be 100% USA Honey and can be tracked back to its individual beekeeper.
When you buy honey, you save a life.
It's that simple.

As part of Valor Honey’s training program, we ask the FDA and the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Specialists to thoroughly inspect our facility annually so that our students can learn the requirements.
We employ fully FDA-compliant extraction and packing facilities and strive to meet the highest food production protocols and standards out there.
All our honey is certified by GenuHoney® , the most comprehensive and credible honey authenticity certification program in the country, to ensure that our honey retains the purity and authenticity it had from the moment it was produced by the bees. All honey packed by Valor Honey can be traced back to the individual beekeepers who extracted the honey, and who are also GenuHoney® certified.
Look for the GenuHoney® seal on every bottle of Valor Honey®
