We offer some great alternatives for you. Veterans, Active Duty, Family Members, and anyone interested in the wonderful world of beekeeping and honey production from basic to commercial. Kansas State University and Valor Honey have teamed to offer an accredited series of courses for those wishing to enroll in a course of study. Our next course has students from Entomology, Horticulture, Agronomy, Food Science and other Departments.

The ENTOM Class for the Spring Semester of 2024 is filled but the course will be offered with each subsequent semester. It is planned to add an advanced course, a commercial course, and a research focused Master Beekeeping Course with each subsequent semester. See the ENTOM courses in the K-State course catalog for more information and watch this site. Fully accredited. VA benefits apply.

We also offer internships for active duty members and veterans who have a defined amount of time that will not enable them to enroll in the K-State Course. We can tailor a program that will have you working beside us doing the hand to hand tasks required to learn beekeeping at several levels. Simply go to "Contact Us" and we can arrange a course just for you. To learn more about our courses and how to enroll, please "Contact Us" and we will respond with the information you need right away!

AFGHAN ALLIES TRAINING PROGRAM

We have just been awarded a grant to conduct training for the first cohort of Afghan Allies living in the Manhattan, Kansas area. Fifteen students will begin training with us in January of 2024 to prepare them for jobs within the beekeeping and honey production industry. They are in the process of forming a national network of Allies who wish to work in this business sector. Some are accomplished beekeepers having worked with bees in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Several have been working with us for several months.

Beekeeping when coupled with traditional counseling techniques has been found to be of great therapeutic benefit for those who wish to receive such counseling. Therapy is an integral part of our courses.
